Ever-so-Klaasy… Win a pair of designer toddler dungarees

So, this week super talented Mylene Klass announces she is to launch a range of baby clothes. Are there no end to her abilities? Next she’ll want my day job!

Only one week to go until the baby is due (two according to the midwives but they never were any good at maths) and the house is spotless. The baby is heavy on the belly and the bags are being prepared. Will it be a baby boy or another little girl? We have no idea…the best things are those best savoured. My sister broadcasted the name and sex of her baby before the birth, leaving me to ask how much the little one weighed in the hope this might offer some element of joyous surprise. But no, it didnt, and the climax was anti. DONT FIND OUT THE SEX OF YOUR BABY, IT SPOILS THE FUN.

baby dungareesIn order to help Mylene in her quest to become a fashion designer I have put together a little quiz to test out her eye for baby clothing. However, I am sure that there are a few good designers out there so for this weeks competition all you have to do is take the baby clothing test and tell me, “What is the name of the queen of style?”. Email me with the correct answer by 25th Feb to be in with a chance of winning a pair of funky designer toddler dungarees. This quiz is a little trickier than the last, if you enter I expect you are in with a good chance.

The winner of BB’s last competition was Rebecca Murphy of Bedford who receives one of LittleNutTree’s beautiful baby coats.

Win a Luxury Baby Dress-Coat !

Luxury Baby Girl's Dress Coat Well its been an eventful week in baby-land. This week the Healthcare Commission released its long awaited assessment of the maternity service. The report classifies services using one of four scores and you can find out how well your health trust rates.

We have justly become increasingly dissolusioned with the overpaid health workers recently. The service is often poor to inadequate. Following the birth of our first born, last year, we were told by our midwife that our daughter required another heel test as a result of a possible positive test for Cystic Fibrosis. At the time I knew little about the disease and for all I knew it could have been a brand of breakfast cereal. Anxious, I quizzed the midwife about the disease and the implications of being diagnosed. She reassured me it was nothing serious and could be controlled through good dietry discipline. (Imagine my shock when I googled about CF and realised that it was a serious condition that halves life expectancy!) She also blow dried the second heel prick test with a very hot hair dryer, thereby damaging the sample. I made a formal complaint about and appropriate action was taken. Do not be scared to speak up if you are poorly treated - it saves the same happening to others!

Other news, well gossip circulating this week concerns a famous couple. I wont give the game away…. the answer is hidden in the (rather easy) puzzle below.

Use your mouse to move the puzzle pieces and email me the name of the celebs and the alleged rumour indicated in the puzzle and you will be in with a chance of winning one of Little Nut Tree’s luxury baby coats. The lucky winner will be picked randomly and informed by email and posted here in about two weeks (11th Feb). Good luck

Baby Chav or Baby Chic ?

Secret Santa bought me a crisp grey v-neck for Christmas from Topshop. It was the perfect fit and for the first few days of the new year I felt smart and fresh again walking around the office. Now, barely two weeks into 2008, sagging and peppered with baubles, it will be seeing the bin before facing the washing machine.

Us brits have a slipping standards when it comes to style. With our massively discounted supermarket clothes, ill fitting suits, baggy t-shirts and trainer ‘fashions’ the rest of Europe have us thoroughly sussed. French women are famous for their effortless style, Spanish familes dress better for a sunday promenade than Brits at a wedding, and Italian men spend more on their shoes than we do on our Man U strips. When I lived in Africa I was amazed at the care and attention paid to appearences - even those without money knew how to make themselves feel good.

So where are we going wrong! From the very start perhaps? Do you think you have style when it comes to dressing your kids? Ever wonder how what they wear will influence how they turn out?

To find out if you are grooming a cheapo-chav or the next red-carpet idol take this week’s baby bloggin’s baby-style challenge before its too late….!
